Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
The short version:
- This site doesn't ask for your name, address or payment details.
- We use PostHog analytics to see which pages help people. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, analytics doesn't load.
- If you subscribe to the newsletter, Substack holds your email under its own privacy policy.
- We do not sell or rent personal data, and we don't use it for targeted ads.
1. Who we are
nicspics is a crypto education website at nicspics.vercel.app. For privacy questions or requests, message @nicspicstv on X. We don't publish a postal address.
2. What we collect
- Analytics (PostHog, US servers). Pages viewed, the page you came from, approximate location derived from your IP address (down to city level), device and browser type, and clicks, including clicks on referral and partner links. PostHog stores a random identifier in a first-party cookie and your browser's local storage so repeat visits can be counted. It does not tell us who you are. Session recording (screen replay) is turned off.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe through the Substack form, Substack collects your email address and handles delivery under Substack's privacy policy. We can see subscriber emails in our Substack dashboard.
- Hosting. Our host, Vercel, processes standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to serve and secure the site.
- Third-party content. Some pages load content directly from other services, which may collect data such as your IP address under their own policies: the TradingView ticker widget; the embedded Substack signup; YouTube videos (privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com mode); a chart library from jsDelivr; posts embedded from X on the Whale Watch page, only if you choose to load them (see below); and public market-data feeds that your browser contacts directly to show live numbers: CoinGecko, Binance, Bybit, OKX, Deribit, Coinbase Exchange, alternative.me, Blockchain.com and mempool.space.
- Tips. Ko-fi processes card and PayPal tips under its own policy. Crypto tips are public on their blockchain, including the sending address.
Posts embedded from X (Whale Watch page)
Our Whale Watch page can show posts embedded from X (formerly Twitter). These embeds don't load until you press "Show the posts from X"; until then each one is just a link. If you choose to load them, your browser connects to X, which may set cookies and collect information about your visit (such as your IP address and the page you're on) under X's Privacy Policy, including for personalization and interest-based ads. We ask X not to use this visit for personalization (the "do not track" embed setting), but X controls what it collects. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage on this device; clear site data to reset it. You can opt out of X's interest-based ads in your X privacy settings and learn more on X's cookie page.
3. How we use it
To understand which pages and tools help readers, fix problems, count referral-link clicks, and send the newsletter you asked for. We don't use it to build advertising profiles.
4. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for cross-site targeted advertising. Service providers that process data for us: PostHog (analytics), Substack (newsletter), Vercel (hosting) and Ko-fi (tips). We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Referral links take you to another company's site with a referral code in the address. What happens there is covered by that company's own privacy policy.
5. Cookies, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
The only cookie we set ourselves is PostHog's analytics identifier. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, our pages don't load PostHog at all. You can also block analytics with a content blocker. Third-party widgets may set their own cookies.
6. How long we keep it
Analytics events are kept under the retention settings of our PostHog account. Newsletter data is kept by Substack until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
7. Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe with the link in any newsletter email.
- Ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, or to correct or delete it: message us as above. We reply within 45 days.
- California: this policy lists what we collect, who it's shared with, and how we respond to Do Not Track. Changes are posted here with a new date.
- EU and UK visitors: you can ask for access, correction or deletion, or object to processing. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
7a. Alabama residents
nicspics is based in Alabama. Under the Alabama Personal Data Protection Act (effective May 1, 2027), businesses with fewer than 500 employees that do not sell personal data are exempt, and nicspics does not sell personal data. Even so, you can ask us to confirm, access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to opt out of any sale or targeted advertising (we do neither). We treat Global Privacy Control browser signals as an opt-out: when your browser sends one, our analytics doesn't load. Send requests by direct message to @nicspicstv on X; we reply within 45 days. We don't collect Social Security, driver's license, financial-account or health information. If a security breach ever exposed that kind of information about you, we would notify you as required by the Alabama Data Breach Notification Act.
8. Children
nicspics is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has given us personal data, message us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page.
